TRUST

                       ARE YOU TRUSTWORTHY?

Webster defines the word trust as (1) firm belief in the reliability, truth, ability, or strength of someone or something and (2)   believe in the reliability, truth, ability, or strength of. The first definition is a noun, building trust and the second definition is a verb as to believe or to rely on someone.

We have all gone through life putting our trust in someone or something only to find out that the trust is misplaced. What devastation!

We made a choice to believe the reliability of that person (s); building on the strength, and truth of what some has said and promised or building a trust on something that seems foundational in our lives, all of this according to the first definition and then all of sudden there is egg on our face, we feel foolish, embarrassed. The question that we asked self, is self how did this happen?

According to the second definition, which is a verb, we believe what people tell us. We take them at their word, they demonstrate a little trust worthiness , so we think, that they are trust worthy and again we find out the exact opposite. The question we ask of self, how could you have trusted that person/or situation.

We all have walked in this area one time or another and will again if we continue to live.
People usually show us who they are by what they do and say if we pay attention and try not to believe what we want, because we so desperately need to trust.  We decided  to trust people with our life, circumstances based on emotions and not really knowing who we are trusting.  This is a quote from Maya Angelou
The first time someone shows you who they are, believe them.”
― Maya Angelou

Never trust someone or something by believing your emotions! Emotions go and come and they are never the same from one moment to the next.  Listen with your mind and not your feelings. He that trusts every one without reserve will at last be deceived. Samuel Johnson, Rambler V5, pg 14

Through life the only person one can be trusted is God himself, he never waivers and there are no variables in Him. What He says he means. The scripture states in Romans 10:11 whosoever believeth on him shall not be put to shame. ASV  When our trust has been broken, it is difficult to trust again, so trust in the only absolute truth that there is that is GOD.
